The hazelnut is the nut of the hazel tree, and is also commonly known as a filbert. The top commercial producer of hazelnuts is Turkey, followed by Italy and the American states of Oregon and Washington.

Hazelnuts stand out among other dried fruit and nuts because of their nutritional composition of protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibers. These nuts are extensively used in confectionery to make praline and used in combination with chocolate for chocolate truffles, for hazelnut butter, on their own and in nut mixes and as hazelnut oil for cooking. Our hazelnuts are available as natural or blanched (with the skin removed).
